Tough questions asked of developer at public hearing

Citizens attending a public hearing of the  Easton Conservation Commission voiced strong concerns about the safety of the public watershed. Those concerns arise from development plans for Saddle Ridge. The Saddle Ridge developers are attempting to push through a plan to build 99 units on about 124 acres within the Aspetuck and Easton reservoir watersheds. They are using state statutes concerning affordable housing as justification for violating local zoning. Please go to the Coalition to Save Easton website for more information.

Easton has an Agricultural Commission!

Last night a proposal to make Easton’s Agricultural Committee a commission was  passed at the annual town meeting. Congratulations to those who have worked long and hard to make this happen!

Public hearing on Saddle Ridge application to build high density housing in watershed

The Easton Conservation Commission will be holding a public hearing Tuesday, April 26th at 8 PM in the Helen Keller Middle School Cafetorium. A show of public support for the CFE position would be helpful, so show up if you can. Continue reading

Easton Town Meeting to vote on Agricultural Commision

At the annual town meeting  this Monday Easton will vote to determine if the current Easton Agricultural Committee will become a commission. CFE sees this as a big step forward in showing support for local agriculture and farmers. Please be there to make your voice heard!
